Future Developments in PCB Manufacture

With our roadmap pointing us toward increased quality and a greater overall capability we are retraining our entire shop floor and inspection staff to the requirements of J-STD-001. Our staff are in the main ex-military/defence production trained people. We as a company look firstly for experience when recruiting and secondly for people with an aptitude towards team work and dedication to quality. The J-STD qualification will reward our team with the recognition they rightly deserve.

Lead Free July 2005:-

With the approaching new legislation we are constantly monitoring the revised requirement. Monthly get-togethers with key customers ensure that we are up-to-date with the latest developments.

To this end we are planning for a dual capability. Our Blundell CMS400D wave solder machine for instance is to be joined in November by its lead free counter part which we will run in parallel thus giving us the dual capability, so that we can continue to service those companies which are exempt from the Directive.

Similar moves are afoot with regard to reflow systems.

This is a testing time financially for the smaller CEM, but it is one which we are committed to meeting head on. With our early investment in new equipment we aim to be amongst the first to achieve process compliance.
